Corrections Policy
Clear, human-reviewed guidance for UK household refuse, recycling, bin collection, missed-bin reports, garden waste, bulky waste, and council waste services.
Corrections policy
We want refuse-collection.org/ to remain useful, accurate and safe. If a council link, phone number, address, map, fee, collection rule or service page has changed, we welcome correction reports supported by an official source.
What we correct
- Broken official links.
- Moved collection-day lookup tools.
- Changed missed-bin report pages.
- Outdated garden waste subscription notes.
- Wrong council phone numbers, addresses or map references.
- Incorrect office/service role descriptions.
- Confusing instructions that could cause a user to contact the wrong council service.
What we cannot correct
We cannot change official council records, collection calendars, missed-bin decisions, enforcement actions, fly-tipping investigations, subscription balances, waste permits, recycling centre policies or contractor operations. Those must be handled by the relevant official body.
How to submit a useful correction
Correction review process
Our team manually reviews correction requests. If the official source supports the change, we may update the page, replace the link, revise the wording, add a safety note, or remove outdated details. For high-risk topics such as waste duty of care, fixed penalties, clinical waste, hazardous waste or enforcement, we use extra caution and avoid giving account-specific advice.
Information-only editorial notice
refuse-collection.org/ is an independent UK refuse collection information website. We write for educational and public-information purposes only. Final collection days, missed-bin rules, recycling instructions, garden waste fees, bulky-waste charges, assisted collection rules, clinical waste arrangements, enforcement notices and local service updates must always be confirmed with the relevant local council or official waste authority before a resident takes action.
